51人谍报之寻找城市重心的人
Cédric Van Parys
1980年代生人
b.1980s
生于比利时根特郊外的猎人家庭，曾在伦敦和鹿特丹，现在在上海工作的建筑师和研究者。半年时间跑遍上海所有区县，寻找代表上海1990年代以来急剧进步的辉煌的建筑地标。它们落地于上海不断扩张和城区合并中的重心点上。他登上周围高楼的楼顶以获得这些地标建筑顶端桂冠的照片。
Cédric was born into a hunter's family on the outskirts of Ghent, Belgium. An architect/researcher, he has lived and worked in London and Rotterdam, and now lives in Shanghai.
在Cédric凭肢体语言搜集他的“进步纪念碑”时，他的朋友和纪录片工作者Romain Vennekens纪录了他从考察探寻到登上楼顶，再到工作室制作模型的过程。这个纪录影像将在上海今日全境的“重心之巅”首映。
Over six months, and with no knowledge of Chinese language, he travelled to all the different corners of Shanghai, seek-ing out the architectural landmarks ofthe city's breakneck progress since the early 1990's. To him these urban cen-terpieces are the tops of skyscrapers located at the gravitational center pointsof each of Shanghai's rapidly expanding and merging districts. He photographedeach of them from the top of nearby and surrounding skyscrapers. He thenreproduced scaled models of each of these skyscraper crowns in his studio, creating what he calls Monuments for Progress. The entire process, made intoa documentary by the lmmaker Romain Vennekens, will be screened (premiere).
